competing mechanical hazards testing.

Children’s toys and childcare articles in the as

received state shall not contain concentrations of

more than 0.1% BBP, DBP or DEHP, individually.

Children’s toys that can be placed in the mouth

or childcare articles in the as received state shall

not contain concentrations of more than 0.1%

DINP, DIDP or DnOP, individually.

The metal content of the soluble material should

not exceeds the levels by weight (mg/kg) of the

contained solid including pigments, film solids

and driers [Antimony (Sb) 60, Arsenic (As) 25,

Barium (Ba) 1000, Cadmium (Cd) 75, Chromium

(Cr) 60, Lead (Pb) 90, Mercury (Hg) 60, Selenium

(Se) 500]

Maximum allowable limit should not greater than

Test Requirement

Shall have no components missing, malformed,

and/or fractured, no discernible surface

degradation including crazing, shivering, denting,

bubbles, cracks, stains, deformations, chips,

fractures, heavy lines, waves, shear marks,

scratches, scuff marks, indentations, or blisters.

The distance between two moving parts, during

the operation of folding or unfolding, are less

than 0.210 in (5.30 mm) or greater than 0.375 in

(9.50mm) (except at points where hinges, bolts,

rivets or other fixing devices are placed). If a

folding chair has arm rests, each component

ribbing, supporting member or protruding part of

the underside of the arm rests must be less than

0.210 in (5.30 mm) or greater than 0.375 in

(9.50mm) in radius. This test applies to pinching

or scissoring point where there are two moveable

components.

The hinge line between a stationary portion and a

movable portion of a sample must admit a 0.5 in

(13mm) diameter rod if it admits a 0.188 in

(5mm) diameter rod.

Furniture which has an accessible, circular hole

in any rigid material less than 0.062 in. (1.58 mm)

in thickness can admit a 1/4-in. (6-mm) diameter

rod to a depth of 3/8 in. (10 mm) or greater, it

shall also admit a 1/2-in. (13-mm) diameter rod.

The product shall be evaluated in all

manufacturer's recommended use positions.

Withstand 24 hours in 1% salt spray (fog) with no

major corrosion or visual change.

Mod. = modification of 1% salt spray

No change after 24 hours at 90% RH & 32° C

(90° F); report if entire item was placed in the

chamber or only certain pieces/sections. List

which pieces were tested, before and after

pictures of the pieces should be included.

Place 25ml of distilled hot water on a horizontal

surface, wait 1 hour, wipe the spot clean and

examine for alterations in the surface including

discoloration, changes in gloss, blistering,

softening, swelling, loss in adhesion, or other

special phenomena.

Place 0.5ml of each stain on a horizontal surface,

cover with filter paper, wait 2 hours, dry, clean,

and examine for graying, spotting, wrinkling,

discoloration, or other film defects. Placement:

wine, ketchup, mustard, grape juice, cooking oil.

No objectionable stain by above list of household

chemicals after 2 hours.
